    Scams and rip-offs are on the rise.  Assume pickpockets are everywhere.  They are true professionals and they want your stuff. The key is to stay acutely aware of your surroundings.  Keep your nose out of your phone.  And don't be so friendly.....really.
They look for easy targets.
